My Step Mom loves her socks!

My Step Sister has IM'd me to let me know her mom got the fuschia socks already!! I only sent them on Saturday and they made it sound it was going to take days to get there back east. How cool is that?

Well, at least they are done, and green

I forgot how swollen my ankles are; the picture is not attractive but the socks are comfy. I guess I should have added a bunch of stitches for the ankle to compensate.
Princess is not impressed, and now I can allow myself to finish the superbowl socks in Trekking. Kewl.

Here is a better picture

I got some sock blockers, in size large, womens and put the completed socks on them.. They look much better stretched out. I have to do the heel on another sock for my step mom but I am going to do the heel in the Queen Kahuna way so I have to learn how.

finished socks

I have to bind off the second green sock, the other socks are all bound off. Finally!

Oh, and that flower? That is an Eppiphyllum, Sound of Music and it is about 8 to 9 inches wide and still opening.

I am on the ribbing on the socks

Since my socks for my wheelchair-bound step mom will be only about crew length, I am on the ribbing on both.

I don't have THAT picture up on the computer, of course.

Well of COURSE as soon as I posted, the pictures migrated into a different orientation!!! Sorry.

Finally took pictures, can you handle it?

Finally used the newly recharged camera to take pictures, some are not that detailed but I had to deal with a cat who decided the background I chose, a bright green towel, was the perfect foil for her tortise-shell rump. So if you see a dark something at the top of the pictures, that is indeed what you are seeing.

So, here we go: This is the Cascade Sassy Striped socks, I believe?

Now, lets' see what else I captured: On the top left, a sock for my step mom in On Your Toes in Fuschia and green, and then there is in the middle at the top: those Knit Picks Felici yarn in Arugula color, and an update photo on the Trekking XXL 100 color socks, with the start of the heel flaps. The arugula socks are almost done, one has the ribbing almost done, need to bind off, and the other is waiting for the needles to be free so I can do the ribbing. Then I can wear them! I have been working on the fuschia socks, I will try to show both of them together next posting. Sorry it took so long to post pictures.

Lunch and knitting ensue

I had the same meal I had a month ago, it was good then, it was good now. I finished a short-rowed heel for my step moms' sock, and my friend was using a different method on her heel and we finished at the exact same time. I took a picture of her sock on her foot as she was trying it out; California casual, trying on socks in a restaurant. I was wearing the socks I knit in the Knit Picks Felici yarn, in Clay coloway and while I loved that I put on the picot edge, next time I will make the edging in larger stitches or something as it was a bit tight. Not badly so, but it took a bit of time to manuver it on my leg so I didn't rip out the yarn. Hmm, can't find the picture of the socks in my files. I need to send my friend her picture of her sock, guess I will make up some more folders so I can figure where to store things I guess. Ever since I got my laptop back my folders are all wonky and disorganised.

would you believe still no pics?

I charged the battery on my camera and then couldn't arrange the socks to look like I had actually worked on them. I am on the ankle of one of my step mothers socks, and she wants them a little higher than crew cut, and the other is being short rowed. I might do a gussett on the other pair, my friend Colleen did that, a la the Crazy Heels and Toes way, as we both have Queen Kauhuanas' book but my eyes glaze over. Speaking of glazing over, I stayed up late but got up early as I thought today 3 of my eppiphyllums would open; not yet, maybe tomorrow but the amaryllis' are open.
I am going to lunch to day with friend Colleen and pictures will ensue.
